Well here it is…YOUR ONCE IN A BLUE MOON

This New Years eve is special and different in that it will be highly emotional.  That RARE BLUE MOON one hears tell about is here and it is extra, extra special as it will also host an ECLIPSE.  WOW!

Here is a little over view by Holiday Mathis:

The decade goes out on a high note. Not only will there be a full Cancer moon to maximize our emotions, but it also happens to be the second full moon of the calendar month, making it a blue moon, too. And to compound the rarity, there will also be a partial lunar eclipse! Though old acquaintances may or may not be “forgot,” this night will not be!

So do something good and exciting, dream, wish and love….large!

Happy New Year to you.

45 Life Lessons in a beautiful slideshow

Merry Christmas

Winter captured

I liked this so much that I am borrowing it and posting it for you to read.  I hope you will enjoy it also.

Regina Brett’s 45 life lessons… and 5 to grow on” by Regina Brett of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland Ohio.

“To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.”

“It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written. My odometer rolls over to 50 this week, so here’s an update”… Regina Brett.

1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.

8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.

12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don’t worry; God never blinks.

16. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.

17. You can get through anything if you stay put in today.

18. A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.

19. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Overprepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: “In five years, will this matter?”

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn’t do.

35. Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.

36. Growing old beats the alternative – dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.

38. Read the Psalms. They cover every human emotion.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

41. Don’t audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

42. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.

43. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

44. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

45. The best is yet to come.

46. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

47. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

48. If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

49. Yield.

50. Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.

I met a new friend and I would like to introduce you to her

This is Mary

I had a surprise sent to me and her name is Mary.  She owns The Bargain Lady resale/consignment stores in Oklahoma.  I invite you to visit her web page at www.bargainlady.com.  I will say God always places someone in your path for a reason.  She arrived to thank me for a small thing and what happened when I went to learn more about her, I  find myself encouraged once again by visiting her pages.  She is on a precipice and it is large.  She could use some clarity so let’s send up prayers that God will guide her to a successful outcome.  Life is a wonderful mystery.  Wishing you all a Blessed and Abundant day.

Look what my friend Kate Holmes gave me

I am trying to learn from our friendly support staff at WordPress (I love how they thank us for HUGS, how great is that?) anywaysssss, how to go about adding multiple photos or a video and as soon as I hear how to accomplish that I will add them.  Meanwhile, I have just uploaded 98 pictures to my webpage.  Please pop on over to www.emporiumnh.com and take a mini virtual tour of the store and some new arrivals.  Thank you for stopping by and I would love to hear what you got to say.

Let’s get better acquainted.  Please leave a comment and share your thoughts.  Thanks.  Karen

What did you see on your ride home last night?

Stunning sunset and fall pics taken on my ride home last night about 4:45 PM on November 14, 2009.  I see this lake every day and every night and its beauty always stops me in its tracks and I wanted to share this sunset  with you.  The other pictures are the same lake this summer and this fall during the day.
So spectacular was this site with the sun setting that you could not tell were the water ended or the sky began.  It was as thought there was an all consuming fire that lit the entire space above us and on all sides.  So stunning a sight that 15 cars stopped to take photos.
All I could think was….”God” what a good job!

A moment to Thank our Hero’s

Annies Story of Stuff and the Real Cost of a Pair of Jeans

Annie's Story of Stuff

First, Happy Veterans Day to all our Heros. An affiliate of mine made this video on You Tube on the real cost of a new pair of jeans. Tara owns a children’s resale shop www.bornagain.net and posted this video as a share on one of my social network pages www.tgtbt.com. I am a proud treasured sponsor of Kate Holmes site.   Tara is taking a class and she made this as a class project. I think you will agree she did a great job and made it relatable by zeroing in on the real costs of a simply pair of jeans.  Annie and Cinda would be proud, I know I am.Many of you know I have been a vocal advocate about Annie’s story and the 3/50 project for many years, so this makes me happier still.  For anyone still unfamiliar with these programs please visit  Annie Leonard and Cinda Baxter and read more about their messages at:    www.thestoryofstuff.com  and the http://www. the350project.netAnywaysss… here is Tara’s take on Annie’s story. She did a good job of bringing the message closer to home for many of us. Sending a big Thumbs up to Tara. When you watch it you will see yet again why Elegant Resale rules today. Here goes…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfW6PMcU7Qg. Tara is on You Tube under “Gently Used Speech” if this link will not open.  Please let me know what you think.  Wishing you all a fan tab u lous day!
